این کتاب صرفاً یک ترجمه نیست. فاطمه اختصاری (مترجم) و Samuel Tongue (ویراستار) در همکاری نزدیک با موسوی، فرآیندی عمیق از پژوهش زبانی و فرهنگی را طی کردهاند تا لایههای معنایی و تصویری اثر را به زبان انگلیسی منتقل کنند. نتیجه، مجموعهای است که نهتنها کلمات، بلکه بافت، ریتم و احساس شعر اصلی را نیز منتقل میکند.
این اشعار نگاهی به زندگی روزمره مردم ایران در شرایط سرکوب ارائه میدهند، و همچنین درد عمیق ترک خانواده، دوستان و یک زندگی کامل را به تصویر میکشند. موسوی از عشق، جدایی و جستوجوی تعلق در تبعید مینویسد، در حالی که خاطره سرزمینی را که نمیتوان فراموش کرد حفظ میکند.
